Tips on getting your website listed in the The Hot Sites Web Directory
Linking Policy
The Hot Sites will NOT link to any website that contains:
- Pornography or explicit adult themes,
- Political propaganda,
- Racist, sexist, adult, homophobic or other discriminatory content,
- Illegal material (including, but not limited to, material that contravenes copyright law - e.g. illegal Mp3s, Warez, Serials etc),
- Spyware or adware, or
- Slanderous/defamatory content.
This is not an exhaustive list. The Hot Sites reserves the exclusive right to determine which websites it will link to. However, The Hot Sites will only reject or delete a listing where the content of the subject website is deemed, in the opinion of a The Hot Sites editor(s), to be offensive, not in the global public interest, or generally in bad taste.
The Hot Sites will also not link to sites that:
- Are under construction,
- Are plain article resource
- Do not serve the interests of a significant group of people,
- Have poor/ amateur layout or design,
- Have broken links,
- Contain a large number of advertisements, and
- Use pop-ups, pop-unders or any other obtrusive advertising.
Personal homepages or blogs will only be accepted in rare cases.
Choose correct category
If you are a website developer, submitting to the general Internet category is not going to do you any favors when there is a Internet > Web Design category.
Don't just hope we won't notice... we will, which may cause your submission to be rejected.
If a suitable category does not exist, please suggest one by adding it to the comments field of the submission form.
Write a descriptive title and description
Carefully write a good quality title and description. Like your website, your title and description must be written in the English language.
The title is the correct title of your business or website. For instance, if your company is called DreamHost Web Company Ltd, your correct title is "DreamHost Web Company", not "Hosting Service".
Try to make the description a fair, unbiased one that accurately describes your website.
Use proper sentence structure, and correct capitalization and spelling. (We are not going to accept your submission when it is entirely in capitals, or if random words or letters are capitalized!).

Acceptable: All about web hosting
Don't use fancy ASCII characters in your title or description.
Don't stuff your title and description with keywords - they will either be deleted, or your submission will be rejected.
Check your submission to ensure that characters have not been cut off the end because of size restrictions.

Houston web site design and internet marketing company specializing in web site design, internet marketing, and searchengine optimization. An example of a description that is totally unacceptable and will be rejected:
